1.    LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

After 2 years of intensive work with funding from British Council /DFID, the “How to...” books, a series of 7 booklets to equip youths to be effective in development work was produced and launched by the British High Commissioner in 2006 in Abuja. In 2007 trainings where conducted in about 15 states across Nigeria and youths where given the handbooks under the Youth Works initiative to conduct community based projects, at the time of this report, about 47 youths projects implementing 220 activities and reaching over 6,000 youths have been implemented!  Read more

Kingsley Bangwell Leadership Prize for Teenagers
The KB Leadership Prize is a teenage youth leadership and character development program  desgined to help young teenagers discover their latent potentials and to begin to maximise those abilities for the benefit of their immediate community / school environment at an early age. This program is based on the philosophy that young people like every other person carries greatness in them that can impact society postively if expressed, thus the need for them to begin to express it within their immediate space today! Piloted in 8 public and private schools with about 100 students, about 40 students conducted impact project, 3 shall win the KB education scholarship every 20th January. read more

2.    DEMOCRACY, GOOD GOVERNANCE & HUMAN RIGHTS


DESPLAY Youth Democracy Program
Youngstars Foundation, Jos, Nigeria with support from the National Endowment for Democracy, NED USA, conducts a year round foremost youth democracy and good governance program DESPLAY.  Democracy Series: Participation - Learning and Active Youths (DESPLAY) is a knowledge based and activity oriented youth program that brings together youths from different places to deepen their democracy knowledge and foster active youth participation in good governance processes.
